Stupid Laws By Stupid People
In most places it’s illegal to leave children or pets inside a vehicle during the summer. Why? Because they can die from it, that’s why! According to some lunatics (especially in California), however, truck drivers don’t qualify as human (or pets).
When my husband parked his truck this evening, the temperature was over 100 degrees. The only place he could park was in a “No Idling” zone. He hasn’t gotten a ticket yet, for the crime of not wanting to get heat stroke, but some friends of his have.
How does one get around this debacle? Simple. Pay out the wazoo to California, pay more to have the truck checked for emissions, and pay again to buy a sticker. It comes out to a little less than a thousand dollars altogether. Cheaper than dying of heat stroke, or freezing in the winter, right. What a bargain, huh?
It’s like buying “carbon credits” and flying around in a private jet. Utterly worthless, but it makes someone feel good. Just not those who are stuck paying for it.
Glo-bull warming/cooling/climate change/whatever is a scam that is starting to fall apart. Every time they give us a doomsday time frame, it falls apart and they move on to something else equally ridiculous. And people are stupid enough to keep believing it! Their idiocy is now risking lives and still nobody seems to care. It’s all about the Polar Bears (whose population is increasing, by the way. They aren’t endangered.)

Are polar bears endangered?
Scientists predict that, if current warming trends continue in the Arctic, two-thirds of the world’s polar bears could disappear by 2050. At the most recent meeting of the IUCN Polar Bear Specialist Group (held in Copenhagen in 2009), the world’s leading polar bear scientists reported that of the 19 subpopulations of polar bears, eight were declining, three were stable, one was increasing, and seven had insufficient data to make a determination. At their 2005 meeting in Seattle, the group reclassified the polar bear as vulnerable on the IUCN World Conservation Union’s “Red List of Threatened Species,” noting that the species could become extinct due to sea ice changes. Individual countries with polar bears have reclassified the species as well. Citing to concerns about shrinking sea ice habitat, the U.S. Department of the Interior announced on May 14, 2008, that it is listing the polar bear as a Threatened Species under the Endangered Species Act. Russia lists the polar bear as “a species of concern.” The major threat to the polar bear is shrinking sea ice habitat due to climate change.
BTW-I agree that your husband is getting the shaft!
Thanks for agreeing. Truckers seem to get the messy end of the stick in lots of ways, at every turn.
Look, the climate is undergoing small, brief changes all the time. It has been doing so as long as the planet has existed. Ice floes melt and break, only to re-form elsewhere. Mankind is no more responsible for it than for the seasons.
One of the latest targets is livestock flatulence. As a small rancher, the idea that I have to pay some greedy crook an extra tax on my cattle makes me really angry. It’s like saying that the dinosaurs “gassed” themselves out of existence.
From ice core samples, to ocean base samples, to the geological record to dendrochronology, the proof is there that carbon levels have been much higher before mankind could have had anything to do with it.
